General Questions

Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is an alternative to traditional health insurance plans. Instead of paying monthly premiums, copays, and service fees, patients of Direct Primary Care pay a membership fee in exchange for unlimited access to their doctor.

FAQ

Cost & Payment Questions

Thankfully, no. While insurance has a place in managing serious health issues, it gets in the way of everyday healthcare.

It is our experience that insurance requirements impose arbitrary—and intrusive—restrictions on our patients that can prevent them from getting the care they need. By using a membership plan instead, we’re able to focus solely on our patients.

Declining insurance also frees us from the typical contractual agreements that would prevent us from offering wholesale prices on laboratory tests, imaging, and medications to our patients.

FAQ

Appointments & Care Access

Rather than scheduling an appointment via a confusing phone menu or online system, patients at FTPC are free to text, call, or email their physician directly to schedule an appointment.

FAQ

Referrals & Outside Care

If your last general practitioner gave you a referral for anything more complicated than a cold, you might be surprised by how things work here!

At FTPC, we take any and all medical concerns seriously and we strive to provide as much treatment as possible in-house. Occasionally, however, it may be necessary for you to see a specialist.

To this end, we have built a strong network of providers throughout Central Florida who we trust to provide our patients with outstanding care. Of course, we will happily work with your existing medical team to ensure you receive the most comprehensive care possible.

FAQ

Lab Work, Imaging & Prescriptions

FTPC has agreements with a variety of laboratory and imaging centers to provide services. to our patients at an extremely discounted cash rate. While you are free to go through your insurance plan, you may find that the “Family Tree” price is much more affordable!

FAQ

DPC Membership & Policies

We make every effort to ensure our patients are satisfied with their primary care, but if you no longer wish to retain your membership, please let us know. Cancellations must be made 30 days in advance.

FAQ

Employer & Family Coverage

Absolutely! Let your doctor know the names and ages of the family members you’d like to add and we will be happy to accommodate them.

FAQ

Miscellaneous Patient Concerns

FTPC patients receive a dedicated primary care provider upon enrollment. We find that this creates a stronger relationship between doctor and patient, as your provider is familiar with your medical history.

If your doctor will be out of the office for an extended period of time, they will notify you in advance so that you can request medication refills and make any other arrangements. If you require immediate medical care during this time, contact the office directly and we will connect you with one of our other doctors.
