Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is an alternative to traditional health insurance plans. Instead of paying monthly premiums, copays, and service fees, patients of Direct Primary Care pay a membership fee in exchange for unlimited access to their doctor.
Believe it or not, DPC actually saves you money in the long run.
Your monthly membership is significantly more affordable than healthcare premiums. And with DPC, you won’t have to pay a copay for office visits or routine physicals. In fact, you’ll be able to avoid many visits altogether by texting your doctor directly—something you won’t get from a traditional practice.
We’ve also negotiated amazing deals for prescription medications, other healthcare tests, imaging, and MRI/CT scans on your behalf. If we had contracts with insurance companies, we would be legally obligated to charge higher prices.
With these steep discounts on labs, medications and imaging, you are able to cut way back on your insurance premiums. Most DPC patients find a high-deductible, low-premium insurance plan so they're covered in the case of a major health issue. But leave the rest of your healthcare to us.
Direct Primary Care gives both doctors and patients more control in regards to healthcare. This model allows us to offer extended appointments so that we have time to address all of your needs.
And because we don’t charge a copay for an office visit, our patients are free to schedule as many appointments as they need to address their health concerns. Being able to catch (and treat) medical issues early is often the key to preventing more serious issues.
Absolutely! Everyone benefits from a service tailored directly to them. That’s why we offer truly custom healthcare.
We’re here for you if you're sick or hurt, but we also help you proactively maintain good overall health. Every visit with us will be thorough, relaxed, and as long as you need to address your health concerns. The longer you're our patient, the more we learn about your health and lifestyle, and the better we can help you maintain that health.
No, DPC is not insurance and does not replace it. However, many patients pair their DPC membership with a high-deductible insurance plan or a health share program to cover major medical expenses like hospital stays or specialist visits. Family Tree cannot provide insurance advice, but we recommend discussing options with an insurance specialist.
We happily provide care to all members of your household, from infants to seniors. There’s a reason we called ourselves “Family Tree”!
Thankfully, no. While insurance has a place in managing serious health issues, it gets in the way of everyday healthcare.
It is our experience that insurance requirements impose arbitrary—and intrusive—restrictions on our patients that can prevent them from getting the care they need. By using a membership plan instead, we’re able to focus solely on our patients.
Declining insurance also frees us from the typical contractual agreements that would prevent us from offering wholesale prices on laboratory tests, imaging, and medications to our patients.
Certainly! Many of our patients keep a traditional insurance plan to cover any catastrophic events. And, by switching to a high deductible/lower premium plan, they often save money on healthcare costs—even with their DPC membership included!
Switching to a healthcare sharing ministry is another great option.
We have a free insurance specialist available to help you determine the best course of action for your family's insurance needs.
